Former incarnations of this joint: Something that started with a P (late 80's/early 90's methinks) Tony Roma's Dakota's Any others? All of the restaurants that have operated here - with the exception of Tony Roma's - have been overpriced and pretentious. Why? Just because you get to sit at the top of a hill and glance down your nose from time to time at trailer parks, condos, and Simi High football games while sipping a $17 well gin martini? Check out the website for this place. It's flipping hilarious, featuring a 20-something brunette with all the facial expression of an automaton in a skimpy white bathing suit who was probably on the drill team at Sinaloa holding bottles of expensive booze. I guess she didn't work out, because now there's a contest for the new face of CandleLight. Maybe a blonde will bring back the customers.

Is this the place that, many years ago, used to put cubed Kosher dills and tomatoes on it sandwiches? Man, I miss that place.

Yeah, just watch out for the metal shards in your food. Hopefully, the 20 or so intervening years since that frightening incident have resulted in safer food handling practices.

Hey, Crazy - remember this one? I see babies cry, I watch them throw Up all over the walls, and down it goes And I think to myself What a blunderful world... (No defamation meant towards Louis Armstrong, whose music I love dearly.) I miss smelly Flutophones; the lumpy, misshapen handball that GATE kids always got studk with at recess; picking up the filthy gray volleyballs that kids used for socco when they flew over the balance beam and down to the spider/jungle gym thing and drop-kicking them over the fence so the yard snooties would have to retrieve them; volunteering to help in the library so I could get out of math; and Twister in a certain teacher's classroom on rainy days.
